Travel Junkie

Last week, I was having a conversation with a stranger who does a lot of traveling and every time he mentioned a different city I said, "I am dying to go there!"
Finally he asked, "Where don't you want to go?"
Haha it's true, I'm always wanting to hop a plane and visit new cities.
That was one thing in Virginia that was really cool.
I could drive 12 hours North and be in Rhode Island and 12 hours South I'd be in Florida.
Now that I'm in Alaska, I could drive 12 hours and...still be in Alaska.
I've been very fortunate to be able to travel all over the US since I was little, but here are a few places in America that are still on my wish list.

1. Dallas, Texas

This city is a bit newer on my list.
I've been to San Antonio twice and it was awesome, but I've heard Dallas is completely different.
I'll be honest, it might have something to do with the fact that I've been watching Dallas lately.
Seriously, who wouldn't want to meet some guys like these?

John Ross {on the right} might be trouble, but I've already let my mother and friends know that I will be moving to Dallas and marrying him.
Speaking of cowboys, my bestie in Oklahoma sent me this calendar the other day and I just about died.

Yes, that's a heart tattoo with my name in it...
She just gets me.

2. Portland, Maine

Oh, I'm sorry...did I just step into a Thomas Kinkade painting?
For whatever reason, I've wanted to visit here for years.
I want the stereotypical vaca there.
Lobster, chowder, sailing, and lighthouses.
I love New England and have made it as far up as New Hampshire.
Maine is just waiting for my arrival.

3. San Francisco, California

I have a lot of family in California and have been several times.
Most of my visits have been to Southern Cali: LA, Santa Barbara, San Diego...
San Fran is just one of the places I've always wanted to go, but never really had the chance to get to.
Visits usually consisted of Disney Land, beaches, and the San Diego Zoo.
I absolutely loved all of that and still do to this day.
However, San Francisco is the home of Full House and has Trolleys...what could be better than that?

Next are a few cities I've already been to, but didn't get to spend much time in and would love to go back.

4. Boston, Massachusetts

We took a boat ride around the city and this was our view

I went to Boston with my college bestie back in college.
We were in Rhode Island, where she lives, and decided to spend her birthday in Boston.
We weren't even there for a full 24 hours, but it was awesome!

 On the boat ride.
We sure do have the duck face/smirk down.

Walking around.
Had to wear my cute newsboy cap to Boston...obvs.

We did some touristy things, went to lunch, and to Quincy Market, but didn't spend much time there.
I would love to go back and spend more time there and also experience the nightlife.

5. Seattle, Washington

Although Seattle is one of my favorite, if not favorite city, I've only actually been there once.
Anytime I fly, I always have a layover in Seattle, but never enough time to leave the airport.
I went to Washington in high school to go to a huge Christian music festival and spent a couple of days in Seattle.
Sadly, this was before my digital camera so I don't have any pictures of this trip.
I remember seeing the Space Needle from a distance, browsing the cutest little shops, watching the guys throw fish back and forth at Pikes Place Market, and eating the best key lime pie of my existence.
I just love the energy and atmosphere of the city.
It has great food, shopping, concerts, outdoorsy activities...something for everyone.
I want to go back to see a Seattle Seahawks game, visit the original Starbucks, and maybe throw a fish at the Market, if I'm lucky!

This list could certainly go on forever, but I'll spare you from that.

What US cities do you really want to go to?

Do you love cowboys as much as I do or do you have a different 'type'?

XOXO
