Adventures in Dating

This past month was a whirlwind.

I've already talked a little bit about how crazy it was with family and work and I don't see it slowing down anytime soon.

What I failed to mention was I have been dating a lot more lately.

I sometimes don't want to get too personal with my love life on the blog because it would be so easy for a guy I'm seeing to look it up and read everything I'm thinking about him.

That being said, some dates are just TOO good to not write about.

For my first story, I've decided to go with a recent date.

This guy seemed pretty funny and nice over text.

He was cute and had a good job {which he constantly talked about - i.e. making tons of money and how he was super high up in the company...blah blah blah}.

I agreed to meet him one night for a drink.

I became increasingly unsettled about it when he started texting me things like, "oh my gosh I'm SOOO excited to meet you! We are going to have so much fun!!"

Dude. Chill.

We met and he seemed alright though.

We went into the bar and ordered our drinks.

I had a beer and he had some fruity shot.

Even the bartender gave him the beer before I said, "Oh no, he had the girly drink, I had the beer."

That gave the bartender quite a laugh.

The next hour or so I had to endure this 24 year old telling me about his 8 cars, how he went to boarding school in London {and he pulled out the most fake British accent I've ever heard}, he said he went to MIT, how rich he was, his experience dating a celebrity in LA, "accidentally" showing me a dick pic on his phone, and basically just making an ass of himself.

So, after his 5th girly shot, he was definitely feeling good and thought it was an appropriate time to put his hand on my leg.

At this point I said I had to get up early and needed to get to bed.

He asked me if he could walk me to my car.

I just expected him to be a gentleman and give me a hug or kiss me on the cheek.

Nope.

I go in for a hug and he just plants one on me.

He told me, "I get what I want and I see myself with you."

Not only is that super annoying, it's creepy.

I've been dodging him the best I can, but gosh, kid is persistent.

The absolute BEST part of this whole thing is, when I got home I googled him.

It sent me straight to his Facebook page...

He went to community college in Arizona.

I don't think I've seen anything more hilarious in quite a long time.

Seriously, I'm dying.

"Where is, like, the douche bag section?"
HAHAHA!
I don't think I own anything A&F anymore {mostly because I'm not a size 00}.
First of all, I think it's great that this guy was giving clothes to the homeless.
Even though he was only doing it to make a point to A&F, I'm sure the homeless people appreciated the clothes anyhow.
Second, when he showed the picture of the Abercrombie CEO I almost shot tea out of my nose.
Nasty.
Last, when he wrote #FitchTheHomeless, I scared my dog I laughed so loud.
I lied, it wasn't the last point I had.
Because also, every time I walk anywhere within 2 miles of an Abercrombie I almost gag.
Why do they feel it necessary to subject everyone else to their disgusting over-spraying of Fierce {or whatever their dumb cologne is called}.
I was trying to be sarcastic, but I really do think that's what the nostril demolisher is actually called.
I digress, I won't hate you if you shop at A&F, but I also am not good friends with people who wear clothes from "the douche bag section"...except for my brother...
But he doesn't read this so he'll never know.
Please tell me your favorite things opinions about Abercrombie & Fitch.

Awkward and Awesome Thursday

Happy Thursday, lovies!

It's almost the weekend...yay!

I'll probably wake up tomorrow singing, "Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday..."

Just because I'm wild like that.

Anyway, it's time for some Awkward and Awesome goodness.

Awkward:

- Barely fitting into the bridesmaid dress for my best friends wedding.  Here's to 3 months of running and no eating... ;)

I die.

- In the past month, 3 of my friends/co-workers have announced they're pregnant and a plethora have become engaged {Ring by Spring, ya know!?}  The most exciting news in my life is that I finally cleaned my room...

Awesome:

- I went on a memorial run for Boston yesterday.  After I was done, I saw a group of runners that looked really fun.  I asked them if they were a group that ran together often.  One guy said to me, "We're a drinking group with a running problem." Ha!  He then proceeded to tell me all about it and invite me to join.  So guess where I'll be every Sunday and Wednesday evening?! haha

- I couldn't decide whether to put this under awkward or awesome, but decided it should go under the awesome column.  At work, I am given student's applications from the recruiters at the university.  I then take them to a coworker to be scanned into the system.  I am supposed to put my name on them so he knows who left the apps.  Eventually we became friends and I would write things like, "From LP, yo" or, "Get some work done, G"...I don't know why I perpetually talk like I'm Jenny from da block while at work.  Anywho, that's neither here nor there.  Today I wrote one word on the note..."Poop!"  He knew exactly who it was from.

- When above mentioned co-worker goes away for a couple of days...

I wrapped every single one of his pens individually.

Also, his scissors.

Pure evil.

- Apartment shopping.  EEEK!  It's so much fun to look at all the things I can't afford, but would sell my kidney for!  Shout out to Mama P for buying me some AMAZE Anthropologie stuff recently.  I will post pics soon!

- The video I just posted from Dove about beauty is great.  Here is the man's response to that video.  I died.

Totally Lovin' Tuesday

I've been sick with a cold for a total of 9 days.

It's been lame.

Still, I've managed to have some fun...

Lately, I've really been trying to focus on things that make me happy.

While I've been sick, I've been feeling pretty down.

There's a lot of different reasons for this; however, focusing on little things help.

I try to keep busy, listen to music, talk to friends and family, and just look at the positives in my life.

We can't always help our circumstances, but we can help our attitudes.

Alicia Key's/Nicki Minaj's song Girl On Fire has been my theme song lately.

Also, looking at ridiculously funny stuff always makes me happy.

Saw this today and nearly died.

Maybe because I choked on the Hibachi chicken I was stuffing into my face...

This last one has no rhyme or reason other than I look at it multiple times per day to make me laugh.

I think I should frame these and put them in my cubicle at work.

I'll be known as the crazy girl with weird stuff in her cube who laughs all day...

But I'll be happy.

Awkward...&More Awkward...

I know it isn't Awkward&Awesome Thursday...but this post isn't about awesomeness.

It's just about awkwardness!

An art that I, and some of my very dear friends, *cough*DANIELLE*cough*, have mastered!

You should hear some of the things that come out of our mouths...

Or actually, be thankful you don't have to.

You know what I mean.

You're talking to someone, you say something just randomly as a joke or not thinking it's a big deal, and their reaction is possibly, "Um...what?" or "WOW.  Where did that come from...?"

Oh those awkward dots...

I really love them though...

Ok, so anyways, how do you even back your way out of a sitch like that?

Sometimes you just have to stick to your original statement or risk looking more lame by changing your stance on an issue.

Or, if you're like me, you get all giggly and say, "hahahaha I'm just kidding...it was a joke...hahahaha".

Which, seriously, is 1) Annoying and 2) Doesn't make anything less awkward.

But laughing has always been my coping mechanism.

I'm like Claire from Modern Family when she is telling her son that his old friend passed away and she can't stop smiling like a maniac.

I think laughter just breaks some of the tension for me.

My other favorite way of getting out of an uncomfortable situation:

You just have to be confident in who you are and not care what others think.

Easier said than done, but that's the goal.

I think Dr. Seuss said it best with, "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

If you haven't figured by now, I normally write things that happen in my life that the average person can relate to.

So, hopefully you all can relate to awkwardness on some level.

I always say I love awkward moments as long as I'm not involved, so let me hear some of your favorite awkward moments! :)

Die From Laughter

Sometimes I laugh so hard I cry.
