Top 5 Tuesday

I'm joining Just Peachy today with her re-introduction to Top 5 Tuesday!

Todays topic, favorite romantic movies, is in honor of Valentines Day!
You can find Valentines T5T from 2012 here.
Since the topic is the same, I'll just have to pick another list of my favorite romantic movies!
Shouldn't be too hard.
Favorite Romantic Movies {Part 2}:

5. You've Got Mail

I love that scene!
Tom, you are the best.
As Mindy {The Mindy Project} says, "I don't get why Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan even do movies without the other in them."
I agree 100%, Mindy!

4. Crazy, Stupid, Love

Ryan Gosling AND Emma Stone?
Yes please!!
She is my favorite and he...well, I think we can all agree he's the best.
I love that this movie follows a few different relationships and connects them all.
It's cute how Jacob settles down so quickly after meeting Hannah.
Like he's just been waiting for a girl who's worth changing for.

3. Moulin Rouge

Moulin Rouge is one of my absolute favorite movies.
I'm a sucker for musicals and, seriously, has anyone ever been this in love before?
I don't know, I just don't know.

2. Pride & Prejudice {duh}

Is there any movie scene that takes your breath away like this one?
The soundtrack, Mr. Darcy's accent, the sun shining behind them...
I die!
Honestly, I'm more of a Jane {I even played her in my high school production of P&P. Which is why I spent the majority of my junior year talking in a British accent}.
Mr. Bingley would be the one to catch my eye first because he is so kind more outgoing than Darcy.
But once Mr. Darcy lets down his guard, he is so precious.

1. My Best Friends Wedding

Yes, yes, YES!
This movie is number 1 for a reason.
I can remember back to my junior year in high school, watching this movie and identifying with Julia's character so much.
I was never really one to bare my soul to the people I had feelings for.
This movie, and some life experiences, has really helped me understand the importance of being in meaningful relationships and knowing when to put my heart on the line.
It might sound silly, but every time I watch this, I plead with Julianne to tell Michael how she feels about him during this boat scene.
Also, The Way You Look Tonight is my all time favorite song which makes this scene a double shot to the heart.

I can't wait to read your top 5 favorite romantic movies and I hope that your Valentines is filled with lots of chocolate and love!

XOXO

Monday Musings

What I'm Listening To: Mindy Gledhill's Little Soldier

Oh my gosh, so amazing!

What I'm Reading: Buzzfeed

What I'm Watching: Christmas Movies

So far, I've watched Elf, Home Alone, and Bad Santa {at the request of my brother, of course.}
I will definitely also watch The Holiday, Christmas Vacation, and The Muppets A Christmas Carol, which are my absolute favorites!

What I'm Eating: Kastle's Kreations

Dark Chocolate Peppermint, Gingerbread, and Salted Caramel

I went to school with Kastle.
She has a cupcake truck that she parks in different places on different days.
Recently she was on Cupcake Wars and WON!
It was the first team from Alaska to make it and it was so fun to watch her.
Before I even saw her on Cupcake Wars I tried her cupcakes and fell in love.
If you know me at all, or have read my blog for a while, you would know my love for cupcakes.
These are the best I've ever had!

What I'm Wearing: Layers Upon Layers

'Cause baby it's cold outside!
This was Saturday the 14th on my 26th birthday!
I definitely got a lot of snow even though I didn't wish for it...

I hope your week starts off amazing and stays that way.
Getting closer to Christmas!
Yay!
Stay warm, dears.

XOXO

Edens Edge

Do you know who Edens Edge is?
If not, then you should!
They are an amazing country band from Nashville {originally Arkansas}.
They came to Lynchburg and I got to see them a few weeks ago.

This was my outfit.
A bit blurry, but the only one I got.
Typical.

How cute is she!
Her voice is killer.

Acoustic song "Christ Alone".
It is such a beautiful song!

I got to see my best friend last Friday!
She was in VA from Rhode Island wither her husband and baby, Madelyn Mae!
I was SO excited to meet Madi...what a cutie patootie! <3

Christy, Madelyn, and me!

We had the best time!
It had been 1 1/2 years since we had been together.
It was as if we had just seen each other the day before.

I found my favorite Christmas movie at Best Buy the other day!

The Muppet Christmas Carol!
I squealed when I found it...which might have embarrassed Jason just a bit.
I had been looking for this dvd everywhere for a long time and had zero luck.
Hense, the squeal!

My other fave Christmas movies are:
- The Holiday
- Christmas Vacation
- Home Alone
-Elf

*What is/are your favorite Christmas movie(s)?
*What is your favorite thing about Christmas?

I just love going home and being with my family.  I haven't seen them for 1 year {except my mom when she came to visit in May}.  I love picking out presents and drinking hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps and mimosas on Christmas morning...and spiked egg nog...well, you get the picture.
;)
Christmas in Alaska is magical and most definitely my favorite time of the year!

Well, if you'll excuse me, I need to go continue watching 24 on Netflix...
Obsessed.

Shopping Again and The Lucky One

Hey friends!
So, I'll be honest...I may be going a little nutso in the shopping department lately.
Now, I won't point fingers, but it seems that every time I hang out with Danielle we shop.
Take last night for example.
We went to dinner and then to see The Lucky One {amazeballs...but I'll get to that in a minute}.
The earlier showing was sold out so we got a later time and started walking around the mall.
In record time I had purchased two pairs of shoes and a bikini bottom.

Gotta buy some shoes for work.

I love the color of this suit and the cute ruffles!

I bought some jeans from AE as well, but I need to take them back and get a smaller size.
I love when that happens!!
Now, like I said, Danielle and I went to see The Lucky One.

It is my favorite Nicholas Sparks book by far.
When I found out Zac Efron was in it...well, I was just a little bit excited.
The movie didn't disappoint me!
I'm not a movie critic {I would be a horrible critic because I'm easily entertained!}, but when Zac Efron takes his shirt off a lot, I'm just fine with whatever the plot is.
I thought Taylor Schilling was gorgeous and held her own with Zac.
I used to try to pretend I didn't care about romance, but seriously, that's crap.
I'm a "hopeful romantic".
I love love.
Danielle and I talked after the movie and we agreed that there aren't many men out there who treated Beth like Logan did in the movie.
Really pursuing her, wanting to know everything about her, being a gentleman, and being super hot!
It's just a movie.
It's sad because I have a ton of guy friends and could only think of one, maybe two, guy who are genuinely sweet and caring and romantic.
I'm not saying that I want a mushy gushy guy at all.
I'm usually more attracted to the funny guy anyways.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that every time I watch a Nicholas Sparks movie, or any romantic movie for that matter, my expectations shoot through the roof and no guy can measure up to a role in a movie.
I think it's something you realize one day when you fall in love...instead of thinking of all the other persons flaw and how you wish you could change them, you love them in spite of their flaws.
I'm looking forward to the day when I'm in love with someone, and he with me, in spite of our flaws!

Top 5 Tuesday

Happy Valentine's Day!
I'm not a huge lover of V-Day...
No, it's not because I'm single.
I just don't necessarily think it's as great of a holiday as, say, Halloween.
Nevertheless, a lot of people seem to love it.
Including Rachel over at Just Peachy.
This Top 5 Tuesday is all about romantic movies.
How exciting!
I am a huge lover of romance.
I watch certain movies and my heart just dies a little knowing that not many men boys are chivalrous like that anymore.
I know, I know.
A lot of great men are still out there waiting to sweep a woman off of her feet.
Well, I'm still waiting and still a little suspicious that my man is wandering around Antarctica studying penguins right now.
Anyways, you don't need to hear my penguin rants {but aren't they the cutest?!}

Oh my goodness.
Oh my goodness...seriously I just died a billion times looking at those sweet faces!
Ok, so seriously now, my top 5 picks for romantic movies are:

1. The Holiday
This is one of my favorite movies.
I couldn't find a good clip of it, but when Iris tells Jasper to get out of her life...I literally get goosebumps every time.
I think the reason I am so in love with this movie is because every time I watch it I am reminded that I am a woman who deserves something great and I can't just sit around waiting for it.
I need to get some gumption and go after it!
But also, the tent scene...
Could it be any cuter?!

2. The Notebook
I am in love with Ryan Gosling {duh} and I think Rachel McAdams is so gorgeous.
This movie is probably on everyone's list of romantic movies.
I'm a sucker for old movies/movies set in the 40's and 50's.
Plus, I'm a sucker for guys like this...

3. Roman Holiday
Audrey Hepburn is so adorable and I think Gregory Peck is so attractive!

He and James Lafferty look a bit alike, no?

Well, anyways, I just love this movie.

How neat is this clip of Audrey winning Best Actress at the Oscars in 1954 for her performance in Roman Holiday!
She is simply amazing.

4. Titanic
Another obvious one, but I can't help but love this movie.
So Romeo and Juliette-esque.
I'm excited for the movie to come out again in 3-D!
My favorite part isn't the, "Jack...I'm flying!"
That's just cheesy.
But this is my favorite part:

5. The Princess Bride
All I have to say about this movie is...
Where the heck is my Westley!?

Alright, I'm about to go spend Valentine's at the gym!
So romantic.
;)
