Top 5 Tuesday

I'm joining Just Peachy today with her re-introduction to Top 5 Tuesday!

Todays topic, favorite romantic movies, is in honor of Valentines Day!
You can find Valentines T5T from 2012 here.
Since the topic is the same, I'll just have to pick another list of my favorite romantic movies!
Shouldn't be too hard.
Favorite Romantic Movies {Part 2}:

5. You've Got Mail

I love that scene!
Tom, you are the best.
As Mindy {The Mindy Project} says, "I don't get why Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan even do movies without the other in them."
I agree 100%, Mindy!

4. Crazy, Stupid, Love

Ryan Gosling AND Emma Stone?
Yes please!!
She is my favorite and he...well, I think we can all agree he's the best.
I love that this movie follows a few different relationships and connects them all.
It's cute how Jacob settles down so quickly after meeting Hannah.
Like he's just been waiting for a girl who's worth changing for.

3. Moulin Rouge

Moulin Rouge is one of my absolute favorite movies.
I'm a sucker for musicals and, seriously, has anyone ever been this in love before?
I don't know, I just don't know.

2. Pride & Prejudice {duh}

Is there any movie scene that takes your breath away like this one?
The soundtrack, Mr. Darcy's accent, the sun shining behind them...
I die!
Honestly, I'm more of a Jane {I even played her in my high school production of P&P. Which is why I spent the majority of my junior year talking in a British accent}.
Mr. Bingley would be the one to catch my eye first because he is so kind more outgoing than Darcy.
But once Mr. Darcy lets down his guard, he is so precious.

1. My Best Friends Wedding

Yes, yes, YES!
This movie is number 1 for a reason.
I can remember back to my junior year in high school, watching this movie and identifying with Julia's character so much.
I was never really one to bare my soul to the people I had feelings for.
This movie, and some life experiences, has really helped me understand the importance of being in meaningful relationships and knowing when to put my heart on the line.
It might sound silly, but every time I watch this, I plead with Julianne to tell Michael how she feels about him during this boat scene.
Also, The Way You Look Tonight is my all time favorite song which makes this scene a double shot to the heart.

I can't wait to read your top 5 favorite romantic movies and I hope that your Valentines is filled with lots of chocolate and love!

Top 5 Tuesday

I love Top 5 Tuesday, mostly because I like seeing everyone else's answers.
But it is fun to think about my Top 5 Faves for different topics.
This weeks is:
Top 5: Most Worn Items

This one should be easy for me because I wear the same outfits or different variations of the same outfits all the time.

1. Skinny Jeans

These jeans have been my favorite jeans for the past few months.
I wear them probably too much.
But now that I finally got my black skinnies {Size 6! Holla!}, they might be my new favorite.

2. Gap Essential V-Neck T {in black&white}

I don't know what I would wear 5 days of the week without these babies.
This is such a versatile piece.
One of my favorite ways to wear it is under a cropped blazer with skinnies.
It also looks super comfy under a slouchy sweater...and skinnies.
Did I mention I wear skinny jeans a lot?!

3. Blazers

I bought this blazer a couple of weeks ago and I have worn the crap out of it so far!
I'm sure everyone around me is sick of seeing it, but it's so dang adorable.
Anyone who's hung out with me more then 2 times knows that I love wearing black and white and polka dots.
I'm trying to add more color to my wardrobe, ok!?
I wear this to work with a pencil skirt and I wear it with jeans when I go out with friends.
It's just my favorite.

4. Slouchy Sweaters

Slouchy sweaters are my favorite.
I take one with me every day to the office even though it's 150 degrees in there!
There's something comforting about wrapping a sweater around you and having it hug you and fall loose at the same time.

5. Victoria's Secret Yoga Pants

I work out every day.
I wear these when I run outside in the winter.
I also wear them while I'm lounging around the house.
I wear them when doing yoga {obviously}.
Basically, if I'm not at work or having a night out on the town, I'm in yoga pants.

Well, my wardrobe is pretty basic.
I am all about classy comfort.
Link up with Rachel over at Just Peachy so I can check out your basics as well!

Top 5 Tuesday

I was so excited to link up to this Top 5 Tues.
Why, you ask?
Because it's all about my top 5 crushes!
My friend/former coworker, Megan, and I used to talk about this all the time at work.
A customer would walk in and we'd be like, "Ugh, I'll finish my list after I help this lame-o over here!"
So, in no particular order, here are my top 5 crushessss.

1. Ryan Gosling

I totally lied when I said "no particular order".
Ryan G is most definitely numba one.
Always.

2. Adam Levine

As if his voice wasn't enough {Maroon 5's frontman...and yes, it is enough}.
Just look at that grin, those eyes...and I'm a sucker for tattoos.
The girls I worked with at the shop are in love with him too so whenever I visit our conversation usually starts with, "Oh my gosh, I've missed you...almost as much as I love Adam Levine..."
It makes sense to us.

3. Ryan Reynolds

Yes, I know he is on every girls list.
Can you blame us?
He's adorable.
I just love that he seems so goofy and fun.
And he has really great hair!

4. David Beckham

I lied.
David comes first.
Always!
I don't think there's anyone on the planet that can touch that...besides Posh, of course!

5. Taylor Kitsch

He deserves two pictures, also.
I don't even care that he could possibly be a Hanson brother...
I'm a die hard Friday Night Lights fan, mostly because of this stud.

Well, I would add some honorable mentions, but that would just take all night!
The power is back on so my roommates and I are happily living back in our townhouse with lights, electricity, and praise Jesus hallelujah AC!
I hope you have an exciting, amazing, jubilant 4th of July!

Top 5 Tuesday and Lent FAIL

Ok guys, remember how I said I was giving up desserts for Lent?
Well, I am semi-ashamed to let you know that I quit in my last week!
I don't know why I decided the last week was the best time to give up, but I did.
Here's the thing though, I ate 2 cupcakes on Saturday and it was totally worth it!
Except for the fact that I felt slightly sick afterwards...
I told my mom {since we were doing Lent together} and she laughed.
I just felt like I should tell y'all my failure so you don't feel bad if you have failed at something non-important as well.

Alrighty, well todays Top 5 Tuesday is something near and dear to my heart...

Top 5 Tuesday

Happy Tuesday!
Two more days until the midnight showing of The Hunger Games!!
I just bought the soundtrack and I am so stoked!
Speaking of The Hunger Games, today's Top 5 Tuesday is my top five favorite books.
This will be so hard because I love to read and I have tons of books!
You can find all of the books I write about at Amazon.

1. Tuesday's With Morrie by Mitch Albom

This is one of the most amazing books I've ever read.
It is a true story of Mitch Albom spending time with his former professor, Morrie Schwartz, who is dying from Lou Gehrig's disease.
He not only learned from him as a teacher, but now as an adult Mitch is learning from Morrie about life as well.
This book brought me to tears while I was on an airplane!
I recommend it to everyone.

2. Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen

I'm sure most of you have heard of this book, probably because of the movie.
I loved the movie, but as always, I thought the book was better.
I couldn't put this book down and I think one thing the movie didn't capture as much as the book did is how sad older Jacob was in the nursing home.
There wasn't many times in the movie that it showed Jacob as an older man, but the book went between him as a young man and him in the present.
I think this made the ending way more exciting in the book than in the movie {although, I cried at the end of the movie as well}.

3. The Twilight Series by Stephanie Meyer

Ok, however you feel about the movies, the books are amazing!
Sure, Bella's obsession with Edward is totally unhealthy and the movies are super cheesy.
However, I could not put these books down!
I read them all in 6 days...
I didn't have a life for those 6 days and I am somewhat ashamed to say I may have dreamed about the story a few times in that week.
Also, I hate how the movies make Edward look like a psycho overprotective freak.
In the books he was just perfect and loved Bella so much and would do anything for her.
And Jacob is just an idiot!
That's all I have to say about that.

4. Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers

This is a book that I could read over and over again.
I think I've read it 4 times in the past few years.
I love that it correlates the unfailing love Michael has for Sarah that Christ has for us.
It's beautiful.

5. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

This is one of the few books I actually read cover to cover in my AP Literature class.
I love reading books about the "roaring 20's".
I cannot wait for the movie with Leonardo DiCaprio!

I love reading, so let me know what your favorite books are and I will totally read them!
Off to spin class I go!

Top 5 Tuesday

This weeks Top 5 Tuesday is super fun!
It's my top 5 favorite trips.
I love traveling and I'm lucky enough that my parents took me on many trips growing up.
So, here are my top 5 faves!

1. Honolulu, Hawaii

On a boat!

I went to Hawaii my sophomore year of high school with my choir.
It was the most amazing time!
I loved the weather, the shopping, the food...everything!

Our atrocious blue moo moo's we had to wear...so sad!

We got to sing at a few different battle sites and go to Pearl Harbor.
It was incredible!
I cannot wait to go back one day.

2. New York City, NY

On the piano at FAO Shchwarz {like in the movie Big with Tom Hanks!}

I love NYC!
This trip was also in high school {senior year with choir/drama team}.
After this trip, I wanted to move there so badly.
We went to see Beauty and the Beast on Broadway and The Brooklyn Tabernacle.
We sang at Ground Zero.
I got to experience Central Park and all these other amazing places I had only seen on tv.

On our way to the Statue of Liberty!

New Yorks Finest ;)

One day I will go back and see everything else I didn't get to see the first time!

3. Orlando, Florida

I went to Sarasota with 3 of my best friends freshman year or college.

 Siesta Beach in Sarasota

We spent a lot of time at the beach!

St. Patty's Day!

We went to Disney and did a lot of chillin {I think we took a nap everyday after the beach}, which was great for a week away from school.

4. Los Angeles, California

Amaury Nolasco {Sucre from Prison Break} on Rodeo Drive!

Both my parents grew up in California and most of my extended family still live there.
I've been there numerous times growing up, but this trip was different.
I went my junior year of college.
I brought 2 of my best friends and my mom met us there.
She surprised us with tickets to Wicked and I screamed at the top of my lungs in the airport!
My friends both wanted to see a celebrity and I kept telling them we probably wouldn't {because I was never so fortunate before!}
But we did!

Seeing Wicked at the Pantages Theater in LA!

I got to see some of my family and we stayed at an awesome beach house in Santa Barbara for a few days.

So beautiful!  I could stay here forever!

We shopped, we ate, we had the most amazing trip together!
And we got to go to the San Diego Zoo which was so awesome.
And of course...

The most magical place on earth!

Disney is my favorite place ever! {Like, I literally want to go there on my honeymoon!}
We got to see the most amazing fireworks show and I am not the least bit ashamed to say I may have teared up.

5. Las Vegas, NV

My family went to Vegas after I graduated college.
My brother graduated law school the same day and we all met there the next day.
My best friend, Christy, came with which made it even better!

Yay!

Vegas was amazing!
We gambled, and shopped, and ate, and gambled some more!

At the slots with my mother! Haha

Here we are at the Cirque Du Soleil show, Le Reve!

This was just the best trip ever!
I definitely am looking forward to going back {with just my girlfriends this time}...

Or maybe to elope! ;)

Top 5 Tuesday

I almost forgot today was Tuesday, which would have been awful because Tuesday is one of my favorite blog days!
This weeks Top 5 Tuesday is exciting because it's all about pump up music.

I love my workout music, but sometimes it gets so repetitive.
Most of my iPod is super chill, random music that I find.
I love finding music that no one else has.
When it comes to my running mix though, it's pretty standard.
Anything upbeat and loud makes me run harder.
I especially love getting new running music from other people.
So, here are my top 5 choices for workout music.

1. When I Grow Up - The Pussycat Dolls

This video is stupid, but I love running to their music.
I also love their song Buttons.

2. Uprising - Muse

I love Muse.
This song is so great and really pumps me up when I'm doing sprints.

3. Secret Crowds - Angels & Airwaves

I could probably use all of A&A's songs on my running mix.
I love love LOVE his voice and energy.

4. Stereo Love - Edward Maya and Viki Jugulina

I always warm up to this song.
I love the music...it's so different.

5. We Are Young - Fun.

I just love everything about this song, so I had to include it on this list.
I usually play this song when I'm in a slow/steady pace or for a cool down.

Let me know what your go-to song for running is!
Like I said, I love getting music from friends!
Happy Fat Tuesday!

Top 5 Tuesday

Happy Valentine's Day!
I'm not a huge lover of V-Day...
No, it's not because I'm single.
I just don't necessarily think it's as great of a holiday as, say, Halloween.
Nevertheless, a lot of people seem to love it.
Including Rachel over at Just Peachy.
This Top 5 Tuesday is all about romantic movies.
How exciting!
I am a huge lover of romance.
I watch certain movies and my heart just dies a little knowing that not many men boys are chivalrous like that anymore.
I know, I know.
A lot of great men are still out there waiting to sweep a woman off of her feet.
Well, I'm still waiting and still a little suspicious that my man is wandering around Antarctica studying penguins right now.
Anyways, you don't need to hear my penguin rants {but aren't they the cutest?!}

Oh my goodness.
Oh my goodness...seriously I just died a billion times looking at those sweet faces!
Ok, so seriously now, my top 5 picks for romantic movies are:

1. The Holiday
This is one of my favorite movies.
I couldn't find a good clip of it, but when Iris tells Jasper to get out of her life...I literally get goosebumps every time.
I think the reason I am so in love with this movie is because every time I watch it I am reminded that I am a woman who deserves something great and I can't just sit around waiting for it.
I need to get some gumption and go after it!
But also, the tent scene...
Could it be any cuter?!

2. The Notebook
I am in love with Ryan Gosling {duh} and I think Rachel McAdams is so gorgeous.
This movie is probably on everyone's list of romantic movies.
I'm a sucker for old movies/movies set in the 40's and 50's.
Plus, I'm a sucker for guys like this...

3. Roman Holiday
Audrey Hepburn is so adorable and I think Gregory Peck is so attractive!

He and James Lafferty look a bit alike, no?

Well, anyways, I just love this movie.

How neat is this clip of Audrey winning Best Actress at the Oscars in 1954 for her performance in Roman Holiday!
She is simply amazing.

4. Titanic
Another obvious one, but I can't help but love this movie.
So Romeo and Juliette-esque.
I'm excited for the movie to come out again in 3-D!
My favorite part isn't the, "Jack...I'm flying!"
That's just cheesy.
But this is my favorite part:

5. The Princess Bride
All I have to say about this movie is...
Where the heck is my Westley!?

Alright, I'm about to go spend Valentine's at the gym!
So romantic.
;)

XOXO
